Together with the shareholders, I founded ZIF in 2012 based on the philosophy that active input of capital, knowledge, skills, and networks can substantially improve the success rate of young technological businesses. This allowed us to start a commercially successful investment fund.
With the input of my knowledge and experience, I hope that the companies will minimize mistakes and make the right choices to realize their full growth potential. I will achieve my objective when the participations have optimally performed and the ZIF shareholders have achieved the desired output.
In my career, I have held various positions within the SME and semi-government.
As a result, I now possess broad knowledge and experience. I can also rely on my personal experiences as an entrepreneur. I fully understand the situations businesses face and their daily challenges.
In 2006, I founded Starterslift, where I was a general director until 2012. In the early years of Starterslift, I annually spoke to more than 100 young technological businesses wishing to make use of the available facilities, including pre-seed capital, housing, and coaching. Due to the explosive growth that Starterslift experienced, as of 2009, I was only involved in the management of the organization. My main job at the time was focused on stakeholder relationships, personnel management, and finances. Before Starterslift, I was a project manager at NV Rewin West-Brabant, director of Ultimate Hengelsport, and founder/owner of Sebregts Hengelsport.
After high school, I studied Social Geography at the University of Amsterdam.
I stopped right before graduation to found Sebregts Hengelsport. After several years, I realized that having a diploma is very important and continued my studies.
I obtained my degree in 2002.
I am a cyclist fanatic and love taking part in the tours in Limburg and the Ardennes. I also enjoy watching sports and am a loyal supporter of my son’s football team.
I am married to Sandra. We have a daughter (Suzie) and son (Sietse).
